Getting your free year-lookup code

4ganizer checks a track's real release year by "listening" to it and comparing it against a giant free music database (AcoustID). To do that lookup, it needs one free code from that database — a one-time, two-minute setup. Here's exactly how.

Open the sign-up page

Click the button below — it opens in your web browser.

If it asks you to log in, you can sign in with your Google account — or create a free account with an email address. There's nothing to pay.

Look for "Register a new application"

The page will offer two options that look similar. You want the one that says register an application — not the one about a "user" key.

Why it matters: only the "application" code works with 4ganizer. If you accidentally get a "user" key, just go back and register an application instead — it only takes a moment.

Fill in the short form

It'll ask for an application name — type anything, e.g. 4ganizer. Everything else on the form is optional. Click Register.

Copy your code

You'll now see a short string of random letters and numbers, something like ihP29rN4. That's your code — click and drag over it to select it, then copy it (⌘C on Mac, Ctrl+C on Windows).

Paste it into 4ganizer

Open 4ganizer, click Settings in the sidebar, and paste your code into the box under "Year verification." Click Save. That's it — done.
